Feinstein's/54 Below is one of the most appealing places you can go in New York City. This exclusive supper club offers an exciting array of entertainment including concerts, cast reunions, tributes, and more! There is always something to see there as they offer one, two, or sometimes even three shows a night, except when they are closed for a private event which doesn't happen all that often.
There are a couple of important things to note, however, before you make plans to visit the club. When you make a reservation, you are not making a reservation for a specific seat but only for which seating area you want to sit in. Seats are assigned on a first come first serve basis when you arrive depending on the type of seating you paid for. Also, in addition to the cost of your show tickets, a $25.00 per person food and/or drink minimum is required. This is kind of a high as other similar venues we have visited have had only a $10 food minimum, a 2 drink minimum, or no minimum at all.
Still, the caliber of the entertainment offered at Feinstein's/54 Below is incredible. They get a nice mix of established talents and up and comers and just about everybody who is anybody in theater and beyond has appeared there at one time or another.
We recently returned to the venue for the first time since before the pandemic-induced theater shut down to see two of our favorite people in the business, Joe Iconis and George Salazar in their two-man show, Two-Player Game. The show was a new iteration of their previous show of the same name which played the venue back when they were both working on the musical, Be More Chill. Joe composed said musical and George appeared in all three of its earliest incarnations at Two River Theater in Red Bank, NJ; Off-Broadway; and on Broadway. Two-Player Game is actually the name of a song in that show, but oddly enough they did not sing the song in the show this time around.
Nevertheless, the show was still terrifically fun. They sounded great, they had great energy and their between-song banter was one of the highlights of the evening. The pair sang and played, their way through a couple of songs from Be More Chill including George's signature number, Michael in the Bathroom, as well as other Joe Iconis songs, with George doing most of the singing and Joe doing most of the playing. The show was a joy to watch from start to finish.
Upcoming shows at Feinstein's/54 Below next month include a Lizzo tribute, a few new musicals, and Lorna Luft in concert. To find out more or to order tickets to any upcoming shows, visit https://54below.com
