I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: Gone For Good, Buddha U, & Goodnight Dorm Room

We may have been given complimentary copies for review purposes of one or more of the books and/or other products listed below. Any and all  opinions are our own,

Books: Gone For Good, Buddha U, and Goodnight Dorm Room

Today we are recommending Gone for Good by Joanna Schaffhausen. This is the first book in a new series about Detective Annalisa Vega. In this installment, she is involved in the search for a serial killer who has resurfaced after twenty years. The case is made more interesting by Annalisa's connection to one of the victims and an amateur crime-solving group whose interest in the case not only is responsible for the killer remerging but is also crucial to solving the case. Annalisa is a feisty likable heroine. The story is interesting. The plot has some surprising twists. Even when it seems like it is wrapping up there are still more shocks to come.  All in all, this is a good introduction to this new series, and the ending of the book definitely leaves you wanting to know more about what is going to happen next in Annalisa Vega's life.

Today we are recommending Buddha U by Victor M. Parachin. This book is a primer for college students on how to be mindful and survive every possible situation they can face throughout their college years. It deals with everything from how to choose your major, to how to deal with your classes,  to how to treat others, and much more. The book is divided into 108 quick mindfulness lessons so anyone who doesn't want to or doesn't have time to read the whole book can quickly skip to the lessons they need. It is a great resource for any college student to have to help them deal with the stresses of college life and beyond.

Today we are recommending Goodnight Dorm Room by Sam Kaplan and Keith Reigert. This is another book geared at college students. It has some good advice about some serious subjects like staying healthy, studying, how to party with moderation, and more. However, it's told in a fun easy to digest rhyming style reminiscent of Dr. Seuss. It's a great addition to any college freshmen or soon to be college freshman's library.

And that's our view.

Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
