I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Info Age Science and History Museums

What: Info Age Science and History Museums

Where: 2201 Marconi Rd.
             Wall Township, NJ

Who: All ages

Info Age Science and History Museums are a whole collection of museums in one. There is a shipwreck museum, a model train museum, a space exploration center, and much more. Some of the museums are even hosted by groups that are experts in the particular field covered by the museum. For instance, the Shipwreck Museum is hosted by the New Jersey Historical Divers Association, and the Computer Museum is hosted by the Vintage Computer Federation. Accordingly, the people staffing these museums are not just volunteers, but they are actually experts in these fields. This direct link with experts really adds to the experience of visiting these museums and gives you the opportunity to really get an authentic look at these areas.

In addition to the various museums, there are some stand-alone exhibits. There are exhibits on Black History and the Lenni-Lenape Indians. There is a Fallout shelter. There are also exhibits on World War I and World War II as well as a  9/11 memorial exhibit. There is even a Veterans Wall of Honor.

The museum is usually very hands-on and interactive. Visitors are given the opportunity to do such things as hand crank a WWII radio, touch and feel 18th-century cannons, and play with a train set among other things. Unfortunately, some of this interactivity has been curtailed due to the pandemic. However, there is still plenty to see and do and learn at this really fun collection of museums.

Info Age is open 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. You will want to get there early in order to fit in as much as you can in your visit. The cost for visiting all the museums and exihibits is only $10 for ages 13 and up and $5 for 12 and under.  There are several different buildings, and you will have to walk outside to get between them so dress accordingly.

For more information, visit infoage.org. We will talk specifically about the Radio Technology Museum at Info Age in next week's Where-To-Go Wednesday.

Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
