I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Great Reasons to See Aladdin on Broadway!

As we wait for Broadway to reopen with the first set of shows scheduled to reopen on September 14, today we began a new series, Great Reasons to See ..., focusing on different shows returning to Broadway or coming to Broadway soon.

Here are some great reasons to see  Aladdin on Broadway:

1) The story is entertaining. It is a lot like the movie but not exactly like the movie. For instance, some characters that are animals in the movie are people in the show. Also, Aladdin has friends in the show.

2) The songs are pretty. They include familiar songs from the movie like A  Whole New World and One Jump Ahead s well as several new songs including A Million Miles Away, These Palace Walls, and Proud of Your Boy.

2) The Genie's song,  Friend Like Me,  is a showstopper even without Robin Williams playing the Genie.

4) The acting is good with actors often being rotated in from the tour to Broadway and vice versa.

5) The dancing is lively and fun.

6) The way the seats in the New Amsterdam Theater are angled the view is great from everywhere, and there is not a bad seat in the house,

7) The theater has been beautifully restored and is beautiful just to look at.

8) Outside the theater you can take a picture with the magic lamp.

And that's our view.  Aladdin return's to Broadway on September 28, 2021. For our original review of this show go to Theater Thursday - Aladdin For more information about the show or to purchase tickets, visit https://www.aladdinthemusical.com
