If you love a good mystery, but you have trouble finding ones that are not predictable and don't make you feel like you are always reading the same old story over and over again, you should try reading The Book of Extraordinary Historical Mystery Stories edited by Maxim Jakubowski. This extremely eclectic book consists of a collection of mystery stories that are completely unique in every way. No two stories are by the same author. No two stories are set in the same location. There are barely even any, if any, stories set in the same historical time period. A wide variety of mystery genres are covered in this anthology as well. No matter what kind of mystery lover you are, you are sure to find something you like in this book. It's great for reading on the beach this summer or anywhere anytime. Agatha Christie is my favorite mystery author because she was such a clever and timeless writer.

I love Agatha Christie too. I have read almost all her books. Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment.
DeleteMy favorite author is James Patterson.
ReplyDeleteI used to read his books, but I haven't in a while. I love that the chapters are so short, and they are so quick to read. Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment.
DeleteAs a kid, I absolutely loved the Trixie Belden (and to a lesser extent Nancy Drew) mystery books! But as an adult, I could never get much into Agatha Christie or the Sherlock Holmes mysteries. But at one time I did find myself absorbed by Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone alphabet mysteries! Those kept it interesting for me because of the writing and because each story was really a bit different...not altogether predictable.
ReplyDeleteI remember Trixie Belden. I only read one or two of the books though, but I loved Nancy Drew. Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment.
DeleteI like douglas adams and his dirk gently series. They were fun mystery reads.
ReplyDeleteI like nancy drew!
