I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: Before I Saw You & The Last Things He Told Me

Books: Before I Saw You and The Last Thing He Told Me

Today we are recommending Before I Saw You by Emily Houghton. After Alice is injured in a fire, she doesn't want anyone to see her damaged face nor does she want to communicate with anyone at all. Then,  Alfie, who occupies the hospital bay next to her, starts talking to her and drawing her out of her shell. They develop a deep friendship that slowly starts turning into something else even though they've  never even laid eyes on each other. This is a beautiful, beautiful book. These heartbreakingly damaged characters and their story will touch you to your core. It will make you smile and cry sometimes even at the same time.

Today we are recommending The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. Hannah's husband disappears when it seems like he may be implicated in a scandal involving his company. Then, Hannah finds out her husband is not who she thought he was and everything she thought she knew about him is false. However, it's her stepdaughter, Bailey's life that really may be blown apart by the revelations unless Hannah can protect her. This is another deeply moving story.  It is fast-paced and exciting and is all about the extreme lengths a parent will go to for their child. It will break your heart but its truly selfless heroine will inspire you.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
