I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday - Monsoon Season

We were given complimentary tickets to Monsoon Season for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Monsoon Season

Where: Rattlestick Playwrights Theater
             224 Waverly Place
             New York, NY

Who: Recommended for Ages 15 and Up

When: Through November 17

Mom's view: Monsoon Season is a he said/she said story of a couple who have recently split up. The beginning part of the story is told from Danny's point of view. The latter part of the story is told from Julia's point of view. The gist of the story is very relatable to anyone who has kids and who has gone through a breakup  with their child (or children's) other parent. Then, this story takes a wildly dark turn. Ultimately, this story is a romance because these two damaged people clearly belong together. Yet, it is not a sickening overly sweet and sappy romance. It is an anti-romantic romance; a romance for people who hate romance. If you like your shows (and/or your romances)  unpredictable and with a dark and demented side, you will love this show.

And that's Mom's view.
