I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

3) A One-Night-Only Reading of
Frank J. Avella’s
Vatican Falls
To Be Presented by Ashley Garrett
Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 7PM
At Alchemical Studios

Vatican Falls, Frank J. Avella’s epic play set against the backdrop of the Catholic sex abuse scandal, will have a reading presentation on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 7PM at Alchemical Studios, 104 W 14th St., (between 6th & 7th Avenues), NYC.

Vatican Falls is based on factual accounts and events and follows the life of one abuse survivor who struggles with how those closest to him could damage him the deepest. As the sex abuse scandal grows and more horrific details are released state by state, this story becomes more and more vital to the times we are living in. When will Time be Up for those who harm children?

The epic story centers on Riccardo, an Italian-American based in Rome, Italy, who is a member of SCAR (Survivors of Catholic Abuse Refuge), a group of survivors who initially band together to seek an apology from the Vatican but decide retribution is the only way to counter the Church’s unrepentant complicity in the scandal.

The play runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes and will have one intermission.

Admission is free and open to the general public. Seating is limited. RSVP via vaticanfalls@gmail.com or call 973-715-2356.

9B) WORLD PREMIERE OF
JEAN-CLAUDE VAN ITALLIE’S
THE FAT LADY SINGS
DIRECTED BY DAVID SCHWEIZER

INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED OPERA SINGER LAUREN FLANIGAN
AND DOWNTOWN LEGEND TONY TORN TO STAR

PERFORMANCES BEGIN MARCH 21, 2019
AT THE DOWNSTAIRS THEATER AT LA MAMA

La MaMa presents the premiere of legendary playwright Jean-Claude van Itallie’s The Fat Lady Sings at La MaMa’s Downstairs Theater (66 East 4th Street). Directed by Drama Desk Award winner David Schweizer, the production is scheduled to begin previews on March 21, 2019, with an opening night on March 25, 2019 (running run through April 7, 2019). The cast will feature New York City Opera sensation, Lauren Flanigan, and actor, Tony Torn, known for his celebrated experimental theater work. They will be joined by Jake HorowitzNancy McArthur and Jose Useche.

The Fat Lady Sings is the wild, truthful play that we have all been waiting for. The Fat Lady Sings exposes the rotting old belief systems and moth-eaten myths that have brought 2019 America to its knees. A White authoritarian evangelical family -- the father eerily like today's occupant of the White House -- lives out its excruciating and abusive confusion of real and virtual on an ancient, dream-like, falling-apart ship of false notions. Filled with rage, despair, and denial; and, exploited by politicians, preachers, and commercial corporations, the family careens toward catastrophe but also -- amazingly -- cathartic change.
