I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Me - Broadway Playhouse: Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick was fun. The show was filled with songs, games and skits like a typical Broadway Playhouse event. There were some differences this time around though. A kid played the fiddle, and he and three other kids sang in one of the songs. Usually, they only have kids picked out of the audience participate, and the kids don't really sing. I was only familiar with a few of the shows represented in this edition of the show: She Loves Me and Fiorello. For the most part I liked all the songs, however. The game they played was interesting. It was about New York. Kids had to answer questions about New York. The final part of the show they performed a little bit of Fiddler on the Roof with some kids from the audience. They made it really funny. They had a little boy playing Lazar Wolf. That was especially funny. He was supposed to marry the oldest daughter who was played by an adult, and then they told him to pick out one of the other daughters to marry who were all played by kids from the audience. I am kind of excited about the next Broadway Playhouse which will be about Ahrens and Flaherty. but I am sad too because I love their show, Anastasia, but it is closing on Broadway soon which makes me sad.

Mom - We recently attended the second of this year's three Broadway Playhouse shows at Merkin Concert Hall. This version concentrated on the works of Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick know for such shows as She Loves Me. Fiorello, The Apple Tree, The Rothchilds and one of the most well known and widely produced shows in history, Fiddler on the Roof. All Broadway Playhouse shows are filled with humor and fun. but this one seemed to be even more so. It included a hilarious turn by Broadway Playhouse regular, Martin Landry as Jerome Robbins, a delightful game in which young audience members competed to show off their knowledge of New York, and a hysterical take on Fiddler on the Roof in which Lazar Wolf was played by a young audience member. In addition to the young audience members who participated in the show, there were also four young singers/musicians who participated. They sang a song from The Rothschilds with Broadway Playhouse musical director, Sean Hartley. One of the boys also played the fiddle and represented the fiddler in Fiddler on the Roof. All of the boys were very talented, and they were a nice addition to the Broadway Playhouse lineup. It was definitely one of Broadway Playhouse's best shows.

The final show of the Broadway Playhouse which will cover the music of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty will occur Sunday March 24. 2019. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.kaufmanmusiccenter.org/mch/event/broadway-playhouse-lynn-ahrens-stephen-flaherty
