I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Turnstile Tours - Wafels & Dinges Factory Tour

We were given a free Turnstile Tours Wafels & Dinges Tour for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Turnstile Tours - Wafels & Dinges Factory Tour

Where: 264 Butler Street
             Brooklyn. NY

Who: All ages

When: Go here for schedule

Me - Turnstile Tours Wafels & Dinges Factory Tour was fascinating. We saw one of their trucks. We saw the factory where they make their waffles. We even got to try a waffle. The truck was really hot and really crowded. The factory was interesting. It was smaller than I thought it would be. I think of  a factory as being much bigger than the Wafels and Dinges factory was so I was surprised when I saw it. It was pretty much one room, and looked like a big kitchen. The Waffles tasted really good! Previously, I tried waffles when my Dad made them, and I didn't like them. Wafels & Dinges waffles were delicious! We learned about how they prepared the waffles. We even got to help put the waffles on the waffle iron and help make our own waffles. We got to taste a Wafels and Dinges cookie at the factory too, but they don't make them there. It tasted like gingerbread. We also got to taste a little bit of the kind of sugar they make the waffles with. The name Wafles & Dinges sounds kind of strange to me, but we found out Dinges means toppings. That was interesting because I love finding out what words mean. I hope I get to eat another Wafels & Dinges waffle soon. Maybe, next time I will try one with one of their toppings. The one we had on the tour was just plain. Whether you like waffles or not, you would probably enjoy this tour and a Wafels and Dinges waffle.

Mom - Wafels and Dinges was started in 2007 to bring delicious tasting Belgian waffles to the people of New York City. Now, their  iconic yellow trucks and kiosks can be found all over New York City including in Times Square. If you want to learn  more about this company, you will definitely want to take Turnstile Tours Wafels and Dinges Factory Tour. The tour is both informative and delicious. You will not only get to learn about the Waffles and how they are made, you will get to help make some, and you will even get to try one yourself. They are delicious and even if tasting one of Wafels and Dinge's waffles was all you got to do on the tour, it would still be worth it. However,  there is much more to the tour  than that. You will also learn about the history of this company, how their waffles are made, and what makes them so great. You will even get to  learn what the heck "dinges" means anyway. This is a great tour for all ages not only because there is food to eat at the end of it but because the whole thing is not too long. The factory is not too big. It is more like a giant kitchen than a factory. Accordingly, the whole tour only takes about an hour. The tour does not run every day, however, because the factory is not open every day. Tours are only given on Tuesdays and Fridays and not necessarily every Tuesday and/or Friday. Therefore, if you are interested in a tour, you will definitely want to check the web-site for the schedule.
