I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - A Slice of Brooklyn Chocolate Tour

We were given a free A Slice of Brooklyn Chocolate Tour for review purposes. Any and all opinions are our own.

What: A Slice of Brooklyn Chocolate Tour

Where: Tour starts and ends NE Corner of 4th Ave. and E. 13th in front of Liquiteria Juice Bar
              New York, NY

Who: All ages

Me - A  Slice of Brooklyn Chocolate Tour was incredibly fun! The tour guide was really nice. On the tour bus, we watched clips and interviews with people from the places we would be visiting. We went to  four different chocolate shops and tried a couple of treats from each place. The first place was called Jacques Torres. They had really good chocolate chip cookies! The second place was called The Chocolate Room. They had little mini chocolate cupcakes. They were very tasty. In between, the second and the third stop, we went to this place by the water, and went on a little walk. We could see the Statue of Liberty from there. The walk and the view were both nice. Then, we went to the third chocolate shop. It was called Raaka. I didn't really like the chocolate from there. It was very dark chocolate, and I thought it tasted kind of bitter. However, people who like dark chocolate would probably like it. The fourth place we went to was Li-Lac chocolates. One of the things we tried there was toffee covered in nuts. I don't really like nuts. but after I picked them off, it was delicious, and I discovered I love toffee. After the last stop, we watched clips from shows and movies that had to with chocolate on the way back to the dropoff location. This was one of the best tours I have been on in my life!  After all, they had me at chocolate!

Mom - A Slice of Brooklyn: Chocolate Tour had me at Chocolate, and if you are a chocoholic like me, this is definitely the tour for you too! There are four delicious stops on this tour, and you will get to sample at least two different items at each stop. If you are partial to a particular type of chocolate, the samples are varied enough to please just about every chocolate lover's palate. While there is a little bit of walking on this tour, it is really more of bus tour so you will love it if you are looking for a tour where you don't have to do a lot of walking. However, if you are looking for a walking tour that will get you a lot exercise, this is not it. Even though the food sampling is great, the tour is not only about eating. On the bus, you will get plenty of information about the locations you will be visiting, the proprietors of those location, chocolate  in general, the neighborhoods, you will be visiting and more. Our tour was led by the charming and sweet, Paula, who was equally friendly and informative. However, I am unclear on whether there are other guides who sometimes run the tour as well. All in all, if you want the opportunity to savor some delectable morsels and learn a little bit in the process, you should definitely take A Slice of Brooklyn Chocolate Tour.

  1. How long was the tour? We will be visiting NYC in December and are looking for family friendly tours that aren't all walking.
