Mom's view: If you want to sit back and relax and enjoy a light evening (or afternoon) of theater, this show is not a good choice. If you prefer theater, that deals with important issues and really makes you think, you may enjoy American Hero. The show is the second in an expected trilogy which started with American Son which appeared at the George Street Playhouse last season. The current show deals with the idea of what constitutes a hero and whether or not those we bestow the status of hero upon are necessarily always deserving of it. The show is very well acted by a four member ensemble. It is definitely not a good show for children due to both language and subject matter. In fact, at times it can be a hard show to watch for anyone, because we just don't want to think that things can be the way they are depicted in the show. However, the show does shine a light on an important subject and theater that makes you think is just as important if not more important than theater that merely entertains.

What: Bromance
Where: New Victory Theater
209 W. 42nd St.
New York, NY
Who: Recommended for Ages 7+
When: Through February 25, 2018
Mom's view: Acrobatics alone can be interesting as is proved by Cirque Du Soleil. If you want to see a very scaled down version of a smiliar show, you may enjoy Bromance. Bromance is a show performed by the U.K.'s Barely Methodical Troupe. Although there are at least four members of the troop only three of them appear in the show at the same time. The show mostly consists of them throwing themselves and/or each other around acrobatically. Although they are talented, the show can be a little bit redundant at times. It little bit of it goes along way and an hour of watching them mostly do varations of the same things is perhaps a bit too much for some people. Of course, young children who love repetition may enjoy this show immensely. This show is especially good for kids from about 7 to 9. Older children and adults might prefer a show with at least a little bit more variety.
