I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Kinky Boots

We were given free tickets to Kinky Boots for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own based on our experience.

What: Kinky Boots

Where: Al Hirschfeld Theatre
           302 W. 45th Street
            New York, New York

Who: 10 and older
Our view: If you are put off by the name Kinky Boots or the plot of the show which involves the making of boots for drag queens. It's a shame. You are missing your chance  to see one of the best shows currently on Broadway, and maybe even one of the best shows ever on Broadway. Kinky Boots is a smart, funny, ultra entertaining show. The score by Cyndi Lauper is one of the best we have heard on Broadway in a long time. Not only is the music nice to listen to while you are watching the show, it is actually memorable too. We literally left the theater with not one but several of the songs still running through our minds, and we can't remember the last time that happened. While there are some sad eliminates to the plot, overall, the show is a happy and uplifting one which is nice in a day and age when a happy ending to a show is definitely not guaranteed. We would not recommend the show for children under 10 because of adult themes. Children under 4 are not permitted  in the theater at all. And that's our view. Tune in to tomorrow's Talking Topics post for more about Kinky Boots.
