Welcome to the Mom Rocks Giveaway Hop
Sometimes, it's hard to know how to
communicate with your kids. Some of us didn't
just grow up in a different generation but in
a whole different world. You have to find a
way to bridge the generation gap in a way they
can relate to.
One mother found a way to do that through
texts. Tammy J. Cohen began to send her son
meaningful texts every day. These texts were
more than just your average checking-in texts.
They shared knowledge, gave advice, even
shared how much she loved him, and more.
If you want to learn more about how she used text to
communicate with her son and how you can do the same, read her book,
Text Messages to My Son. For more about this
book, see our previous post, Tips for Tuesday - Books: Text Messages to
My Son, Enter to win a copy below:

I really admire one of my friends who I met in our playgroup more than 20 years ago (we have all since moved out-of-state & keep up with each other on Facebook). She had SIX boys!! I watched for years while she was a hockey mom to every one of them. They are now all wonderful grown men, some married starting families of their own. Did I mention that in addition to raising all these boys, she has always spent years as a kindergarten teacher?!

DeleteMy friend Patty almost fills my mother void , I say almost because my mom died 8 years ago from Stage 4 lung cancer, I'm still grieving and heartbroken but talking with Patty helps a lot because she lost her mother too .
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky to have her. Thanks for visiting Says Me Say Mom and for your comment.
DeleteMy one other mother besides my own Mom was my mother-in-law. Say what you will with all those mother-in-law jokes and insults, but she was good to me.
ReplyDeleteYou were lucky to have her. My mother-in-law passed away before my husband and I got together. Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment.
DeleteI didn't know any that I looked up to or had as good examples.
