Mom's view: Let's face it, no matter how good the songs choices are and no matter how great the singing voices are musicals revues can get kind of tedious after a while. That is definitely not the case with Unmasked, the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical revue currently playing at the Papermill Playhouse. The evening is sprinkled with video segments in which the man himself discusses how he ended up working on some of the musicals he's created, how he came to write some of the music he's written and more. These segments are not only extremely interesting but they keep the evening moving along at a steady pace. Even with this added interest, the songs in the revue itself, of course, still do matter. The song choices here are excellent. All the hits one would expect to hear are covered as well as some gems from some of his lesser known shows. The voices are for the most part amazing and even the ones that aren't amazing are not bad. They are just not up to the level of some of the others. When this show opens with a beautiful approximately four (4) minute A Cappella mashup of some of Lloyd Webber's greatest hits, you just know you are going to be in for something special, and you are.
