I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - American Girl

What: American Girl
Where: 75 Rockefeller Plaza
             New York, NY

Who: All ages

Mom's view: A number of years ago, we did a post about American Girl in New York City, but since then the store has changed locations so we decided to visit again to see if anything else has changed. First of all the store is much more compact. This is not to say that it is small because it still covers quite a large area and includes large sections devoted to the doll of the year, create your own doll, each historical doll and more.  All the great things that were beloved about  the original American Girl store in New York City are still a part of the newer store. There is the salon where both girls and their dolls can get their hair styled or their nails polished or even get their ears pierced. There is the cafe where you can get brunch, afternoon tea, lunch or dinner. We had the opportunity to eat at the American Girl Cafe when the store was in its previous location, and the food was delicious. The store still offers birthday parties and special events like American Girl Painting Parties and Yoga with American Girl. The main difference is the new store is much more interactive. First of all you can actually create your own doll right down to the clothing in the store. Second, there are a lot of fun interactive things to do throughout the store like write a newspaper headline like Kit Kittridge or make a recording like Melody Ellison or enter a science contest and more. Over all, although the store may at first seem smaller,it still contains everything that girls loved about the original location and more, and boys don't need to feel left out either. American Girl's line now includes a boy doll, Logan although they always had boy dolls as part of their Bitty Baby line. Any little girl or boy or big girl or boy that loves dolls will love this store.
