I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Winterkeeper & Movie Quotes For All Occasions

We may have been given one or more of the books listed below for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: The Winterkeeper and Move Quotes for All Occasions

Mom - Today I am recommending two books.

The first book I am recommending is The Winterkeeper by Anna Schmidt. This  book is a work of historical fiction set during the depression. When her mother dies, Millie's stepfather is only interested in stealing the fortune she inheirited so Millie runs way to Yellowstone Park to find Ginny, her mother's former best friend even though she has never met Ginny. However, Ginny is away in Chicago dealing with a family crisis of her own. Instead, Millie encounters Ginny's husband, Nate the park's Winterkeeper who takes her in even though it can cost him his job. Although this book was inspired by an actual Winterkeeper who lived in Yellowstone Park with his family for years, it is a work of fiction. It is a realistic look at what life is like for a person in this line of work told through a fictional story. It is also a touching family story.  It  shows that being born into a family or even marrying into a family is not always what makes a family. From the moment, Nate takes Millie in even though they don't know what is going to happen, they become like a family. It is also a sweet romantic story. Nate and Ginny make an adorable couple that you can't help rooting for. Whether you love a good family saga, a good love story or you just love historical fiction you should enjoy this book.

The second book I am recommending is Movie Quotes for All Occasions Unforgettable Line's For Life's Biggest Moments by James Scheibli. Whether you need inspirational words to offer graduates or inspiring words to offer a sports team or words that fit several other important occasions, you can find them  all in this book. The book is not meant to tell you what to say on these occasions, but just to provide a jumping off point to help you write a speech of your own. Of course, it is fun just to read through the quotes too especially because most of these quotes are not the overused movie quotes that you hear all the time. That might be because many of the quotes in this book are quite long and usually shorter movie quotes are the ones you hear all the time. In any case, whether you are looking for inspiration to write a speech or for words of wisdom to share or you just enjoy  a good movie quote this book is a great resource.

And that's Mom's view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
