Mom's view: In honor of Black History Month, the Paley Center for Media currently features an exhibit on African American Achievements in Television. The exhibits features achievements in different television genres including comedy, drama, talk, news, music and sports. Historic achievements and famous people related to each field are highlighted. There are also a bunch of monitors playing video clips related to each area including a video regarding Jackie Robinson breaking baseball's color barrier, clips of old TV shows, and more. There is also an interative display where you can test your knowledge of the various subjects covered in the exhibit. While the Paley Center generally features an interactive video display regarding whatever is currently being featured at the Center, the current video display is much more comprehensive than the interactive video displays usually featured. The exhibit also includes special family events and viewings. The exhibit is free and open to the public every day from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM except Thursday when it is open until 8:00 PM and Mondays and Tuesdays when it is closed.
