Mom's view: We Are the Tigers is like a combination of Bring It On and Heathers. It is definitely not a show for young children, and there is some graphic violence. However, the show is by no means the equivalent of a slasher film on stage, and the violence does not run throughout the entire show.
It is more a show about a typical group of highschool girls trying to make it through the jungle that is adolescence. However, in this case, their world is literally like a jungle because it turns out there is a murderer among them, and they do not know when and if the murderer will strike again. While the show can be scary at times, it is not actually as scary as you might think, and it is actually full of quite a lot of humor. The songs are really upbeat and fun, with a few pretty ballads thrown in. There is not a bad song in the whole score. Even if when you walk out the door of the theater you do not remember the songs, you will want to listen to them again. All in all, if you can stand a small amount of graphic violence, you should definitely go see this engrossing new show.
And that's Mom's view. Tune in Saturday for Still More Theater Saturday.
