I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday - Call Me Madam

What: Call Me Madam

Where: New York City Center Encores!
             131 W. 55th St.
             New York, NY

When: This event occurred from February 6 - 10, 2019

Mom's view: The latest offering from New York City Center's Encores! limited revivals of old musical series just concluded its run. In honor of City Center's 75th anniversary and in view of the current times we are living in, they brought back, Call Me Madam, a show that had previously been presented earlier in Encores! history. The show originally starred Ethel Merman on Broadway and revolves around Sally Adams, an ambassador to the country of Lichtenberg who doesn't know what she is doing. The show is very amusing and fun. The score by Irving Berlin is also fun and includes such well known songs as It's a Lovely Day Today and You're Just in Love. Encores! version of the show starred Carmen Cusack, known for playing the lead role in Bright Star on Broadway. She was terrific in the role as was the rest of the cast which also included Ben Davis, Lauren Worsham, Jason Gotay and more with amusing cameos by Carol Kane of Taxi fame and Saturday Night Live's Darrell Hammond as the Duke and Duchess of Lichtenberg. All in all the show was engaging and delightful and definitely up to New York City Center's usual high standards.

The remaining two shows in this year's Encores! series will be I Married An Angel and High Button Shoes. I Married An Angel will run from March 20 -24 and more information about the show can be found at www.nycitycenter.org/pdps/2018-2019/I-Married-An-Angel. High Button Shoes will run from May 8 -12 and more information about the show can be found at

And that's Mom's view. Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
