I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

American Songbook
An Evening with Christine Ebersole
Christine Ebersole has enchanted audiences for decades with award-winning performances on screen and on stage, in live concerts, and on myriad solo and cast recordings. While early successes in film and television showcased her “multitudes” as a comedian, actress, and singer (New York Times), Ebersole’s more recent stage performances—including her Tony Award–winning dual role in Grey Gardens—have solidified her standing as Broadway royalty. Rave reviews for her performance as Elizabeth Arden in 2017’s hit musical War Paint reveal that this “enduringly vital” talent (New York Times)—and our love for her—is here to stay. For this very special engagement in Alice Tully Hall, Ebersole’s signature wit and “fervent, radiant soprano” are guaranteed to surprise and delight our Songbook audience.

Kirwan will also perform songs from his brand new album, Heroes/Belfast EP , being released on Black 47 Records on February 19, 2019. The idea for the title track came from a conversation that Kirwan had with David Bowie, who said that his song "Heroes" could just as easily have been written about Belfast as Berlin, since both cities were divided by walls. Also included is "Second Coming Blues," which is Kirwan's attempt to make sense of the Trump presidency through the prism of William Butler Yeats. The US Premiere of BLEACH by Dan Ireland-Reeves will continue through March 10. This award-winning underground hit, seen throughout the UK as well as in Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Dublin, made its US premiere in January in an intimate, immersive production performed for an audience of 10. Directed by Zack Carey, the site-specific production stars Eamon Yates and Brendan George, who share the role of Tyler, a young man trying to find his way while paying the rent in NYC. Audiences are invited to join Tyler at Tyler’s Basement in Bushwick, Brooklyn for this dark and humorous look at sex, violence, and city living.

BLEACH centers on Tyler, a twenty-four-year-old who sells his body on a nightly basis. But on a regular working night, things are about to spiral out of control leaving Tyler questioning whether living in the city is really worth the price of rent.

BLEACH runs through March 10, with performances at 7pm & 9pm daily. (Note: no performances Presidents Day 2/18 or Oscar Night 2/24). Tyler’s Basement is located at 637 Wilson Avenue at the corner of Cooper Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn – directly off of the L train at Wilson Avenue. Running time is 75 minutes. Contains brief nudity and strong language, no one under 18 is permitted to attend. Tickets are $30 - $50 at 212-352-3101 www.SpinCycleNYC.com.
