WNYC's Arun Venugopal will host a talkback with cast and crew after the performance as part of their ‘Micropolis’ series.
With text arranged from real court transcripts by Waterwell co-founder and Tony Award® nominee Arian Moayed, and featuring direction by Waterwell Artistic Director and Obie Award®winner Lee Sunday Evans, The Courtroom will feature the entire original cast: Happy Anderson, Michael Braun, Tony Award nominee and four-time Obie Award winner Kathleen Chalfant,Hanna Cheek, Michael Bryan French, Mick Hilgers, Tony Award winner Ruthie Ann Miles, Linda Powell, and Kristin Villanueva.
he Courtroom is a re-enactment of deportation proceedings. In 2004, an immigrant from the Philippines who was married to a U.S. Citizen came to this country on a K-3 Visa. After inadvertently registering to vote at the DMV in Bloomington, IL, receiving a voter registration card in the mail and voting, her removal proceeding was set in motion. It began in Immigration Court and her case was eventually heard by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. The Courtroom will be performed entirely verbatim from the court transcripts.

After fantastic audience and critical response, BAREFOOT, a daring new sexual escapade by Kate T. Billingsley and Thomas G. Waites, will extend through March 2 at the Gene Frankel Theatre when it began performances on January 24.
Two weeks before her wedding, Sylvia is confronted in her opulent, West Village apartment by her fiancé’s sexually confident mistress, Teddy. As their respective male partners arrive, the four charged lovers (and a pizza man) clash over love, lust, and intimacy in a comical prism of betrayal and psychological warfare.

BLEACH

The US Premiere of BLEACH by Dan Ireland-Reeves will continue through March 10. This award-winning underground hit, seen throughout the UK as well as in Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Dublin, made its US premiere in January in an intimate, immersive production performed for an audience of 10. Directed by Zack Carey, the site-specific production stars Eamon Yates and Brendan George, who share the role of Tyler, a young man trying to find his way while paying the rent in NYC. Audiences are invited to join Tyler at Tyler’s Basement in Bushwick, Brooklyn for this dark and humorous look at sex, violence, and city living.
BLEACH centers on Tyler, a twenty-four-year-old who sells his body on a nightly basis. But on a regular working night, things are about to spiral out of control leaving Tyler questioning whether living in the city is really worth the price of rent.
BLEACH runs through March 10, with performances at 7pm & 9pm daily. (Note: no performances Presidents Day 2/18 or Oscar Night 2/24).
