Me - Total Vocal is a concert that is all A Capella. There are no instruments. It is held yearly. It was really fun. This is the fourth year they have held a Total Vocal concert. We attended two years ago, but last year we were unable to go due to a scheduling conflict. I was excited because I had a lot of fun last time. The concert this year was equally good so I wasn't disappointed. I was familiar with a lot of the songs, and I liked them. There were songs I didn't know also, but I liked them too. I didn't have a favorite there were a lot of songs I really liked. The voices were really nice. It is so cool that people can make the sounds of instruments with their voices too. Nobody really stood out to me. They were all good. They had a lot of special guests from A Cappella groups as well as a girl named Shelly who appeared in the Pitch Perfect movies. The concert was conducted by Deke Sharon who does everything A Capella. He worked on the Pitch Perfect movies, the TV show Pitch Slapped, and the Broadway show In Transit. Over all, I had a really good time, and I can't wait until next year's Total Vocal concert!
Mom - Recently we had the opportunity to attend the annual Total Vocal A Capella Concert. We had been looking forward to it for two years since we were unable to attend last year's concert. The show definitely lived up to our expectations. It was an absolute delight. The voices were amazing. The songs choices were great and represented a wide range of different genres including Latin, showtunes, pop music and oldies. Songs included Waving Through a Window, Walking on Sunshine, and Louis Prima's Sing, Sing Sing. Guest artists included Matthew Sallee, the newest member of Pentatonix; Shemesh Quartet from Mexico; and Shelley Regner who played Ashley in the Pitch Perfect movies. There were also two very talented high school groups, Room 100 from Peters Township High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Evolve from Chesapeake High School in Pasadena, Maryland who participated in the concert. Their singing was equally as enjoyable as the more experienced singers. All in all, it was just a completely joyous event from start to finish led by the irrepressible, Deke Sharon, and I am already looking forward to next year's show.
And that's our view. Do you enjoy A Capella music?
Tune in tomorow for Tips for Tuesday.
