I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Me - Black Violin was really good.  There were two violinists, a drummer, and a keyboardist. I didn't know there would be any other instruments besides the violin. I liked the music. I liked that some of the music was familiar. I was expecting that the only thing they would be playing would be classical music, but it was not like that at all. I don't really like classic music that much at all anyway. I like other kinds of music much better.  Black Violin played a mix of different music in the concert. A lot of  what they played I liked. I don't remember what songs they played now, but I do remember that I liked a lot of them. They had a lot of flashing lights during the concert. That was cool! People who are interested in hearing music that they wouldn't expect to come from violins would enjoy this concert.

Mom - I really didn't know what to expect going in to the Black Violin Concert at State Theatre New Jersey. I was expecting two guys sitting in chairs playing nothing but classical music on violins. I was pleasantly surprised to  find out the concert was nothing like that at all. Kev Marcus and Wil B, the violinists that make up Black Violin (their band also consists of a drummer and a keyboard player) are two of the most talented performers I have ever seen and/or heard. Their music runs the full gamut from classical to rock. Just about whatever kind of music you like, you can probably find something to like about a Black Violin concert  as long a you like you're music loud because they definitely can be that. Songs played at the concert we attended included  Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk and Imagine Dragons' Believer. However, not all songs at a Black Violin concert will be something you've heard before no matter what kind of music you like. At a every concert, they improvise a new song on the spot and play it for the audience. Therefore, every audience at every Black Violin concert is always treated to something unique that no other audience has ever heard before. It takes a lot of confidence and a lot of talent to be able to pull off something like that. Black Violin has a ton of both. A Black Violin concert is definitely a fun and unique experience for all ages.
