I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Misc.: What Were You Thinking

We were giving access to the new Audible audio series What Were You Thinking for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Mom - Today I am recommending What Were You Thinking a new audio series from Audible. This is a series that discusses risky behaviors that adolescents engage in and analyzes why they do things like that and how we can possibly prevent these behaviors. Each episode revolves around a particular theme. Episodes include one about teen suicide, one about school shooters and one about addiction to gaming. In each episode, there is a case study of one or two adolscents who engaged in that type of behavior as well as  a discussion of why adolescents in general might behave in that way, and expert advise on possible ways behavior like that can be prevented or changed. When possible the adolescents spoken about are interviewed as well. The series is informative and fascinating. Although it seems like this series would be depressing because of the subject matter being discussed  (and at times it is), over all, it gives a sense of hope that with an understanding of why these behaviors occur and what to do about them,  we at least have a chance to prevent or change some of these behaviors at least in some cases.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
