I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

1) The Butterfly Lovers

An eternal love that defies all expectations. Reimagined by an international team of creative minds together with Hong Kong Ballet’s Choreographer-in-Residence HU Song Wei Ricky and MAI Jingwen, The Butterfly Lovers is a legendary Chinese folktale about humble scholar Liang Shanbo and aristocratic heiress Zhu Yingtai, who disguises herself as a boy in order to study at a prestigious academy. From innocently meeting as students and forging a strong, immediate bond to dangerously rebelling against centuries-old forces that threaten to keep them apart, the lovers face unexpected challenges at every turn, as secrets are revealed and a shocking family betrayal ultimately seals their fate.

2) Destination Undefined

Five AI researchers from the Human Research Institute discover a mysterious Memory Cube buried in a long-forgotten Gold Vault beneath Manhattan. It contains something unimaginable: a living record of human consciousness from the year 2051. As they decode the fragments, a lost cyborg world begins to emerge — AI units fight for voting rights, chip-enhanced humans scramble to survive a collapsing system, and hidden secrets pulse beneath the vault’s rusted doors. Above ground, a civilization built on algorithms begins to collapse. Below, the last defenders of a relic economy are trapped with more questions than answers. But the deeper the researchers dive, the more unstable the memory becomes. Is this just a simulation of the past — or a warning from it? Destination Undefined is a genre-bending sci-fi absurdist play about trust, identity, and the cost of being human in a world that no longer knows what that means.

3) Exorcistic The Rock Musical

In true Rock and Roll fashion, Exorcistic features a rotating cast of Celebrity Guests each week, creating an incentive for audiences to return again and again. This unique aspect sets the musical apart in the crowded horror-comedy genre, promising fresh surprises at every performance. The storyline follows a theater company planning to put on a parody of “the exorcist”. The exorcist? “Because it will sell!” a direct quote from the writer!

Sunday, August 24 at 2pm
Feature Documentary: TransMexico
Written & Directed by Claudia Ymi Sanchez -  USA
Transwomen face more difficulties in Latin America than in any other part of the world. In most of these countries, unchecked transphobia severely limits trans people’s access to education, employment, housing, and medical services. In Mexico, which has one of the highest murder rates of transwomen in the world, the prosecution of these crimes is regrettably uncommon. But despite these challenges, many transwomen live empowered lives; they live in truth and have found respect, acceptance, love, and fulfilling careers. This film is a story like no other. Focusing on a narrative of triumph and not trauma. How we go from victim to victorious. Trans people are powerful and resilient. Based on true stories—written and recounted by the protagonists themselves—TransMexico is built around the incredible lives of these Latinas Transwomen.
Our goal is to present their stories to a global audience, especially those who still struggle with who they are. We hope that TransMexico will let the world know that the female trans community in Mexico exists, is proud, and will remain so, even in the face of devastating adversity. Spanish language with English subtitles

8) Little Bear Ridge Road

On the remote outskirts of a small Idaho town, a razor-tongued aunt and her long-estranged nephew find themselves suddenly back in each other’s orbit—two lonely souls with a crumbling house to sell and a tangled history to unravel. Bitingly funny and quietly explosive, Little Bear Ridge Road is a sharply etched portrait of two people reaching across emotional galaxies—searching for meaning and fumbling toward connection, even as they fear it might swallow them whole. In this piercing and profound new play, the void is vast, the stars are indifferent, and love—messy, human, and hard-won—might be the only thing tethering us to Earth.

The current book club selection is themed to the upcoming production of “She Loves Me” with book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.

About the book: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she’s never met, a native of the island of Guernsey? Juliet begins a remarkable correspondence with the society’s members, learning about their island, their taste in books, and the impact the recent German occupation has had on their lives. Captivated by their stories, she sets sail for Guernsey, and what she finds will change her forever.

About “She Loves Me”: Amalia and Georg, two clerks in a 1930s perfumery, are constantly at odds. They both find joy, however, in the romantic letters exchanged with anonymous pen pals they discovered through a “lonely hearts ad.” Little do they know, they are actually writing to each other! Based on the classic film “The Shop Around the Corner,” and the inspiration for the blockbuster film, “You’ve Got Mail,” “She Loves Me” is a delightful musical that celebrates one of the most enchanting love stories ever told.

Tickets may be purchased now via the Bucks County Playhouse box office by calling (215) 862-2121, or online at BucksCountyPlayhouse.org
