I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday- 37th Annual Festival of New Musicals

We received complimentary tickets to the 37th Annual NAMT Festival of New Musicals for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: 37th Annual NAMT Festival of New Musical

Where: New World Stages
             340 W. 50th St.
             New York, NY

When: This event was held from October 24 through October 25, 2025

Back in October, this year's National Alliance for Musical Theater's Festival of New Musicals took place at New World Stages in New York City on October 24 and 25. As usual, the festival showcased excerpts from six musicals and spotlighted songs from a couple of others as well. This year, there was even a musical that had received a full production at a venue that shall remain nameless (right now, we really wish it was nameless) and was supposed to go on, but was unable to do so, to, let's just say, due to outside forces, but that's putting it mildly.

This year's shows included dramas, family-friendly comedic adventures, biographical musicals, and more.   They were inspired by books, fairytales, true stories, and more.  Genres of music included folk rock, Latin, jazz, and more.

And that's our view. For more about  NAMT's Annual Festival of New Musicals and other events or to learn how to become a member, go to https://namt.org. To find out about submitting an entry to next year's festival, go to namt.org/newmusicals/festival-submissions/

Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
