Welcome to the Dashing December Giveaway Hop
While we'd all like to believe in things like love,
goodwill, and truthfulness particularly at this time of
year, people's wants and needs often conflict with those
of others. This may cause some people to use underhanded
methods to get what they want from others, even when it is not obvious that they are. For example, many of
us can see the methods a cult uses to recruit and
control members, and we know that's not right. Yet, we don't see that marketers use many of the same
methods to get people to buy their products.
In her new book, Hoodwinked, Mara Einstein, PHD, lays
out all the ways that marketers use the same tactics as
cults. Her book is eye-opening, fascinating, and even scary in many ways. For more about it, see our
previous post Tips for Tuesday - Books: Hoodwinked. Enter to win a copy below:

I love trying to find the perfect gift for each person on my list!
ReplyDeleteI find that part extremely stressful, but our family doesn't really exchange gifts anymore anyway. Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment.
DeleteMy favorite part is creating new traditions. Like cooking whatever we want together, making crafts together out of old Christmas cards to exchange in lieu of store bought gifts & stringing up popcorn to put on the tree. There's so much to be thankful for right now. 💝
ReplyDeleteI agree old traditions are nice but it's always great to start new traditions. Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment.
DeleteI’m not a fan of the traffic, and how people handle it. It’s going to be more crowded, and it’s probably important to remember that and not get impatient for little reason.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment.
DeleteI hate all the fakness.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment.
DeleteI love getting together with family and friends. I hate the crowded stores!
