I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

The Last Laugh is the story of an imagined dressing room meeting between three legendary comedians, Tommy Cooper, Bob Monkhouse, and Eric Morecambe. These three actual British comedians were at their heyday in the mid to late 20th century. Cooper was known for his magic tricks and his work with props. Monkhouse was known for hosting game shows. Morecambe was known for his work with his partner, Ernie Wise. Although the three were quite popular in their day, at least in their native Great Britain, they are less likely to be known by American audiences, particularly contemporary ones.

The show gives the audience a taste of their humor and explores their different styles.  It's like being treated to a smorgasbord of comedy. While much of the show's humor still hits, some might not land as well with American and/or contemporary audiences.

Beneath the show's humor, there is a poignancy regarding what it's like to spend your whole career trying to make other people laugh and how hard that can be.  The three men are strikingly played by Damian Williams, Bob Golding, and Simon Cartwright, who brilliantly capture the dichotomy of the camaraderie between the men as fellow comedians and their rivalry for the same reason.
