If you are a film history buff, you will definitely want to read When
Hollywood Came to Utah by James V. D'Arc. This fascinating book covers the
history of filmmaking in the State of Utah. It provides a comprehensive list
of movies including television movies and series made in the state since 1913
as well as specific details about the making of numerous films as far back as
The Deadwood Coach and as recent as Horizon: An American Saga, the latter of which was
only recently released. Although both of these films are Westerns and most of
the movies covered in the book (and filmed in the state) are Westerns not all
are. For more about this book, see our previous post
