When a suburban couple hosts a dinner party for their new neighbors, a couple relocated from one of Chicago's roughest neighborhoods, they may not be as welcoming as they are trying to appear. This dark comedy is a very telling cautionary tale about how prejudices don't always come from people outside of one's own race. It is sharply written with a kind of biting wit that makes it sad and funny at the same time.
The four-member cast plays off each other well and each shines in their roles. Cynthia Kaye McWilliams is particularly good in the least likable role of Patricia, a woman who is definitely not as fond of her new neighbors as she is trying to appear. There is always something simmering beneath the surface of her character that makes you want to know more about her. All in all, this is a show that will definitely make you laugh, but it will also make you think.
