I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Books: Aunt Edwina's Fabulous Wishes & TidalWave Comics Female Force Series

Today we are recommending Aunt Edwina's Fabulous Wishes by Lynne Christensen. After the death of her beloved Aunt Edwina, Julie Fincher leaves her gold-digging unfaithful new husband to set off with her cousin on a family history treasure hunt in accordance with her late Aunt's wishes. This is a charming novel full of quirky likable characters.  Although it is set in the present day, it has a sweetly old-fashioned feel to it. The story is interesting and in many ways informative about such topics as locations in Southern England and antiques. There is a sweet undercurrent of romance throughout the book. However, if you are interested in books where the romance is a more overt part of the story, it may not be satisfying enough for you. This book is the first in a planned series so read at your own risk if you don't like getting caught up in book series.

Today we are recommending TidalWave Comic Books Female Force series. These graphic novels shine a light on noteworthy historical women. Women covered by the series include Dolly Parton, Selena, Donna Summer, and female Supreme Court Justices. These books are informative and full of beautiful colorful illustrations.  They are a great way to introduce even the most reluctant of readers to these outstanding women since their short form makes them much less daunting than delving into an entire biography or autobiography.
