I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Why You Need to Watch DC’s Stargirl

DC Universe's new television show, Stargirl, has been airing on The CW. Some people have only heard of this show and never watched it. They are missing out because it is a true superhero show packed with lighthearted fun and laughter. A large audience has received it well. But there are several more reasons why you need to watch this show. Here are some of the top reasons you need to watch Stargirl.

1. Stargirl Is Played by Brec Bassinger

Obviously, Stargirl is the character that the show revolves around, and the executive producer Geoff Johns made a fantastic decision when he gave Brec Bassinger the role. Bassinger is lighthearted and truly embraces the role of Stargirl. She makes it feel like someone develop as she learns about her superhero traits. This means learning to wield her cosmic staff and manipulate energy—all with the help of her sidekick.

Bassinger also makes it feel like her character actually wants to help people as a superhero. This bubbly personality makes the show fun and isn't something you typically see on a TV show. Plus, this actress can easily shift from mild-mannered teenage girl to epic superhero. Also, the fact that her character is in high school gives the show a down-to-earth feeling.

2. Stargirl Experiences Failure

Most superhero shows don't start with a failure. Most superheroes have some obstacles, but they generally don't wind up with an earth-shattering failure in the first few episodes. Stargirl winds up experiences an epic loss and failure by the third episode. Not only did she get defeated, but she also watched as someone she knew was nearly killed by the bad guy. This makes the show seem so real.

3. Superhero and Villain Leagues Form

You are probably used to watching superhero leagues form. But it's not every day you get to watch a villain league form. The side-by-side formation of good and evil makes for an exciting show. Plus, it helps you understand the villains and dislike them even more. It is also a drastic twist on the traditional lone, untrustworthy villain.

4. Luke Wilson Is the Sidekick

Luke Wilson gets to be a sidekick to Stargirl. His name is S.T.R.I.P.E., and he portrays her stepfather. This actor is giving his best effort to this role, and it shows. He gives off just the right vibes to be the goofy stepdad and the heroic sidekick. He isn't the focus of the show, but it wouldn't be the same without him. Plus, his dislike of Stargirl's decision to take on her role as a superhero, combined with his undying support, gives the show an extra layer of depth that makes it seem real. After all, she did kind of steal the cosmic staff from his basement. But that doesn't stop him from building himself a robotic suit to help her. That's a great stepdad and sidekick.

5. It’s Clean and Fun

This show is fun. While there may be some episodes that burn your soul, it is generally lighthearted and easy to watch. It is also fun to watch a superhero deal with teenage girl drama. For instance, she has to find her place in a new school after a move. On top of all of this, it is a clean show that kids can enjoy.

Stargirl is the next best show you need to watch. It is a superhero show that anyone can enjoy. The creators were able to capture enough real-life issues and paired them with the perfect actors to make the show seem like reality. It also provides some interesting twists that you need to see.
