I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: Take It Back & Movies: Antartica

We may have been given complimentary copies of any books and/or other products and/or access to any movies and/or other videos mentioned below for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: Take It Back

Today we are recommending Take It Back by Kia Abdullah. Tensions run high when four Muslim boys are accused of raping a white girl with facial deformities. This book is very timely in its portrayal of the way people take sides on a matter based on their own beliefs instead of getting all the facts of the matter before making a judgment.  The plot moves along at an extremely rapid pace and is full of twists and turns. Not only will you not know what is going to happen next, you won't know who to root for from one minute to the next either. The conclusion of the book is absolutely gut-wrenching and will haunt you long after you've finished reading it.

Movies: Antartica

Today we are talking about Antartica. This is not your typical teenage movie, and Kat and Janet are not your typical teenage heroines. They are not ugly ducklings poised to turn in to swans and turn their lives around. They are firmly entrenched in their role as outsiders seemingly without any hope of that changing. However, ultimately they have each other and their friendship is what makes this film worthwhile and even hopeful and inspirational. It shows that as long as you've got one person on your side you are doing okay.

ANTARCTICA is available now on Breaker, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Dish, Spectrum, Youtube and more on.

And that's or view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
