Being able to stream theater from your home may not be the same as going to a show live, but it does have some good points.
1) You don't have to leave your house.
2) You don't have to spend any time or money getting there.
3) Even if there is a cost for streaming, it is usually much less than buying a ticket to a live show.
4) You can watch in your pajamas.
5) You can turn it on at the last minute.
6) A lot of shows do not only have to be watched at one specific time. You have window of time in which to watch them or if they are on a service like Broadway HD as long as you are a subscriber you can watch whenever you want.
7) Sometimes, you can watch a show more than once without having to pay twice.
8) You can watch shows that are out of your area.
9) You don't have to worry about crowds or stand in line in the cold or heat.
10) You don't have to worry about people making noise or heads getting in the way.
11) If you are really looking forward to seeing a specific performer who is supposed to be in the show except in very rare circumstances you can be sure they will be in the show.
12) You don't have to worry about overspending on show merchandise.
However, despite all these good points and the fact that we are really in favor of streaming theater and partake in it ourselves, it will never be the same as live theater!
And that's our view.
What are you enjoying streaming these days?
Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
Great points, if only we had a speaker system that gave us the theater sound!
