I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Giveaway: Win a copy of Black Man on the Titanic in the Something to Marble At Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the Something to Marble At Giveaway Hop hosted by MamatheFox

The Titanic was something to marvel at. It was supposed to be the unsinkable, but we all know that turned out to be not true. Even if you think you know everything there is to know about the Titanic, there is still always more to learn. Black Man in the Titanic is one such story that most people are unfamiliar with. Joseph Laroche is one of only three known black passengers on the ill-fated voyage. Also, unusual  for the time he was a second and not a third class passenger, and he was married to a white woman. Black Man on the Titanic is not only the story of Joseph Laroche's trip on the Titanic, but his life prior to that time as well. It delves quite a bit into the history of Haiti because of Joseph's ancestry and his relationship to many important figures in Haitian history. For more about this book, see our previous post Tips for Tuesday - Books: Black Man on the Titanic. Enter to win a copy below:
