Mom - Every year the Tony's seems to have a hotel partner, and every year that hotel seems to have a Tony related exhibit. This year the hotel is Sofitel New York and the exihibit consists of theater posters created by Frank "Fraver" Verlizzo. Fraver has created over 3000 Broadway posters covering Broadway, Off Broadway and even overseas productions over the course of his long career. He currently has a new book available regarding his long time working in the theater called Fraver by Design 5 Decades of Theatre Art From Broadway, Off-Broadway and Beyond. The exhibit at Sofitel includes 39 of Fravers most iconic works including his posters for Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George and Follies as well as actual Tony posters from three different years. The exhibit is located on the walls of the lobby of the hotel and is completely free and open to the public. It is not a very big exhibit and is not worth going out of your way for, but if you are going to be in the area and you have some time to kill, it is a fun exhibit to check out.
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
