Who: All ages
Mom's view: I recently had the opportunity to see City Center Encores! production of Me and My Girl, the last show in the 2018 Encores! season. The show was a complete delightful full of fun songs highlighted by the breezy title number and the catchy dance number The Lambeth Walk. It is hard to believe that the show has never been revived on Broadway even though the original was nominated for 13 Tony Awards of which it won 3. The story is quite enjoyable and incredibly funny. It is also kind of sweet and romantic. The plot involves a combination of a gender reversed My Fair Lady and a gender reversed Princess Diaries. The leads in the City Center Encores production were played by the charming Christian Borle and the beautiful Laura Michelle Kelly. They made an adorable couple that you couldn't help root for. They were backed up by a talented array of performers full of lovely voices and fabulous feet. All in all, it was another winner for City Center Encores! and a wonderful end to their historic 25th season.
If you can't wait to find out what they will be doing next at Encores!, you are in luck as they recently announced their upcoming season. The schedule of shows for Encores! 26th season will include the following shows:
Call Me Madam - February 6 - 10

High Button Shoes - May 8 -12

In the meantime if you can't wait almost 9 months for the next Encores! season, you won't want to miss Encores! Off Center's season which will take place the over the summer. This year Encores! Off Center's limited run revivals of Off Broadway shows will include the following shows:
Songs for a New World - June 27 -30
Gone Missing - July 11 -12
