I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Let's Talk About Reading

Me - Reading, wow! Reading is one of my favorite things to do in the whole world. It makes me so happy. There was literally never a time in my life when I didn't like to read. However, there are some times when I'm not in the mood to read, but not too many.  Even when I was little, I was always memorizing my books and trying to read them. I had them so well memorized that I knew exactly where to turn the pages so it seemed like I was really reading, and I was so proud of myself. That was when I was 2. By 3, I was reading. Now, I usually read at at least two books a week sometimes more. I love the feeling when you're reading a good book, and it's so good that you don't even want to put it down. Ever since I was in Kindergarten, I've loved reading chapter books. Since about fifth grade, I've mostly been reading romance novels. I am usually pretty good at picking out books for myself. Sometimes, I'll pick out a book that is so good that I'll read the entire thing in one sitting. Some books, that I love I'll read over and over again. I don't understand how so many people can't see how great reading is.  I can't imagine my life without books, and I hope I'll never have to.*

The above is a guest post by older sister, Melia.

Mom - All my life, I have loved to read. In remember in 1969, when the Miracle Mets won the World Series, I had to quickly rush back to my bed when my Dad excitedly came up the stairs to get me because I was out of bed over at my bookshelf trying to sneak read when I was supposed to be sleeping. Of course, then I couldn't really read, but even then I always loved books. By the end of first grade, I was reading chapter books. We learned to read in first grade back then not Kindergarten and certainly not Preschool. Since then there has never been a time in my life when I do not have a book or sometimes even two, three or four books that I am currently reading. Now, with a husband and two kids and two cats and this blog and everything, it is sometimes hard to find the time to read and I don't read as much as I would like to or as I much as I used to, but I squeeze it in whenever I can. I always travel with a book or usually at least one print book and my Kindle. I love my Kindle and being able to carry around so many books at once, but I could never really completely give up print books either. When I was younger I used to sometimes re-read books. However, now I don't because there are just too many great books and more being written every day and there is just not enough time to read them all. That is one of the things that makes me saddest about life that as many books that I get to read in my life there will be so many others left unread that I would have enjoyed as well. However, while I am alive, I intend to enjoy as many books as I can.

And that's our view.  What do you love about reading? Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
