I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday - Unconditional: A Musical Memoir

We received complimentary tickets to Unconditional, A Musical Memoir, for review purposes. All opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Unconditional, A Musical Memoir

Where: La MaMa - The Club
             74A E. 4th St.
             New York, NY

When: This show ran from October 15 through October 25, 2026

Unconditional: A  Musical Memoir is Margot Rose's personal story, which she wrote, co-composed and performs. It is about the joy of having and raising a family even if you have to go to extraordinary lengths to make that happen.  It is also about unimaginable loss and unbearable grief and how to keep going when the bottom falls out of your world.

The narrative is shared through a combination of storytelling and song. Ms. Rose is accompanied only by a small band and a young woman, Melina Young, who embodies her late daughter. Ms. Young imbues her performance with a lovely sweetness in voice and demeanor. The pair's duets are beautiful but also a poignant reminder of Ms. Rose's loss.  Her ability to step out on the stage and share her heartbreak every night is both an act of courage and a loving tribute to her late daughter.

And that's our view. For more about the show, visit unconditionalmusical.com.

Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday
