Where: Museum of Arts and Design
2 Columbus Circle
New York, NY
Who: All Ages
When: Through February 8, 2026
Dana Barnes is an artist who creates abstract sculptures and installations from wool, fiber, and other related materials. Her work is the focus of the current exhibit, Untamed Gestures, at New York City's Museum of Arts and Design. This immersive exhibit is set in a replication of her actual studio. Thus, not only are there fully realized examples of her work, but there are also samples of her materials, the tools she works with, and more. It is an interesting way of looking at the artist's process and what goes into creating the art, rather than just viewing the final result.
