What if the souls of unborn children could be reincarnated and mothers could be united with the children they aborted and form an instant connection with them? That is what some women are beginning to believe in Winnie Holtzman's engrossing new play, Choice, now playing at Princeton's McCarter Theater. Zipporah (Zippy) Zunder is a seasoned reporter unused to taking things on faith. Yet, she is drawn to the idea especially when she meets a young stranger with whom she feels an unexplainable connection. Her friend. Erica is concerned that the whole movement will harmfully set back women's rights particularly women's right to choose even in the time when Roe Vs. Wade had not yet been overturned which is when the play takes place. The women are skillfully played by Ilana Levine and Kate A. Mulligan respectively. They are joined by an excellent supporting cast in this smart, funny, and extremely thought-provoking new play.
