What: Lucky Stiff
Where: AMT Theater
354 W. 45th St.
New York, NY
Who: Recommended for Ages 13 and Up
When: Through May 12, 2024
Despite its nonsensical plot involving a man forced to cart his dead uncle around Monte Carlo to receive an inheritance, Lucky Stiff is an amusing show. The story is convoluted but engaging. The characters are over the top but amusing. The performers in the current production of the show really lean into the zaniness of their characters to the audience's delight.
The show is an early work of esteemed composers, Ahrens and Flaherty. Although the songs are not as memorable as those in their later works, they are fun. All in all the show is an entertaining lark.
