I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Broadway Studio Tour

We were given a complimentary Broadway Studio Tour for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Broadway Studio Tour

Where: Open Jar Studios
             1601 Broadway (at 48th St.)
              New York, NY

Who: All ages

Me - I was excited to go on a Broadway Studio Tour. It was a fun experience. We got to see some of the spaces where they rehearse for upcoming shows. While we were there, they were rehearsing for The Wiz. We couldn't watch but we could hear some of the singing through the doors.

We learned about what goes into getting a show on Broadway. Some of the information, I knew already. However, I learned things too like how much it costs to get a show to Broadway and how long it can take to get a  show there. Knowing these things makes it surprising that any show ever makes it to Broadway. However, I'm glad they do!

Mom - If you ever wanted to know more about how a show gets to Broadway you'll definitely want to take a Broadway Studio Tour. On this fun and informative tour, you'll visit rehearsal studios, learn about the process of bringing a show to Broadway from the first draft of the script through opening night, and you'll even get to see some theater memorabilia like a final script known as the bible of the show (you'll be surprised at how thick it is), a set model and/or more. If you're lucky, you may even get to hear a little music from an upcoming musical as sound bleeds through the doors as you walk around the building. A Broadway Studio Tour is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience that no true theater lover is going to want to miss.
