I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Giveaway: Win a Copy of Woman of Means in the April Showers Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the April Showers Giveaway Hop
hosted by The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island.

Into each life a little rain must fall, so they say. Some of us have a little more rain in our lives than others and coming from a wealthy and/or prominent family is no protection against the rainy days of life and certainly doesn't guarantee happiness. Marlene Wagman-Geller's book, Woman of Means is all about famous women whose lives were not nearly as happy and/or as easy as you would think they would be based on their privilege of birth and/or marriage. Leona Helmsley, Gloria Vanderbilt, and Ruth Madoff are only a few of the woman whose stories are covered in this book along with Almina Victoria Marie Alexandra, daughter of a British Army Officer; Huguette Clark, daughter of an industrialist, and many others you may or may not have heard of. For more about this book, see our previous post Tips for Tuesday - Books: Woman of Means. Enter to win a copy of this fascinating book below:

  1. The actor and comic that plays Mr. Bean, Rowan Atkinson, saved his family's life in 2001. They were flying from Mombasa to Nairobi when the pilot lost consciousness. Without having experience flying, he took the controls until they were able to get the pilot to regain consciousness.
