Book: Amelia Unabridged
Today I am recommending Amelia Unabridged by Ashley Schumacher. Amelia, a voracious reader is particularly fond of a series of fantasy books known as the Orman Chronicles. She and her best friend, Jenna attend a book convention hoping to meet the books' reclusive author, N.E. Endsley. When Jenna gets to meet Endsley and Amelia doesn't, Amelia doesn't even have time to process and get over her hurt and anger, and Jenna is killed in a car accident. Then, Amelia unexpectedly receives a package containing a signed copy of the latest Orman book and she is sure Jenna sent it so she travels to Michigan to find out and eventually finds herself face to face with the young reclusive author of the books. This is an incredibly moving story about hope and healing. It is about learning how to face whatever hand life has dealt you and persevere. Amelia and Nolan are both truly good-hearted but damaged characters that you can't help rooting for. This book will both break your heart, and it will make your heart soar.
Movies: Alice Fades Away
Today we are talking about Alice Fades Away. A woman on the run goes to stay on a farm from her childhood where she puts all the residents' lives in danger. If you enjoy a dark thriller you may like this movie. With a running time of just a little over an hour, it definitely won't take up much of your time. However, that doesn't give it much time to develop the story and/or the characters. Accordingly, you don't ever really get to know enough about the characters to care about that them much. Also, the movie is somewhat on the gory side so if you are squeamish, you might want to skip it. It does keep you on the edge of your seat at all times, and it's never boring. It just may leave you wanting to know more.
ALICE FADES AWAY is available now on iTunes/AppleTV, Amazon, Google Play, Microsoft, Vudu, FandangoNOW, Cable VOD platforms and more now.
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
