Cute Broadway Show Couples

In honor of Valentine's Day this month, this post is the first in series about cute couples in various forms of entertainment. Today we are talking about Broadway. There are so many cute couples in Broadway shows that we couldn't narrow down to just a few that we love so this list represents cute couples in different categories of Broadway shows.

1- Shows with deeper meaning - Bandstand's Donny Novitski & Julia Trojan  - At its heart, this show is about how difficult life can be for soldiers returning home from fighting in a war but the veteran and the young war widow at its center are a big part of its appeal. Another example of a perfect pair from a show that teaches without preaching is Link & Tracy in Hairspray. 

2- Shows based on movies -  Beetlejuice's Adam & Barbara - This adorable ghost couple is one of the many highlights of this show. Other examples of extremely cute couples in this type of show include Edward & Vivian in Pretty Woman and Aaron & Cady in Mean Girls.

3- Shows based on real-life - On Your Feet's Emilio & Gloria - This couple is just as appealing on stage or off. Other examples of captivating couples in this type of show include Donna Summer &  Bruce Sudano in Summer the Donna Summer Musical and Charity & PT Barnum in Barnum

4- Show set in historic times - Anastasia's Anya and Dmitry - This couple shows that sometimes true love can prevail even if you're born on opposite sides of the track. Other examples of delightful historic duos are Thomas & Martha Jefferson in 1776 and Sam & Hannah in Allegiance.

6- Modern musicals - The Prom's Emma & Alyssa - This couple shows that you love who love no matter what the rest of the world says. Other examples of contemporary couples include Angel & Collins in Rent and Mopsa & Pamela in Head Over Heels.

7 -  Fairy tale musicals -  Cinderella's Cinderella & Princess Topher - This couple shows that sometimes in the theater life can be a dream come true.  Other examples of legendary story couples include Belle & the Beast in Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin & Jasmine in Aladdin.

We are aware that some of these shows may fit into more than one of these categories. There are numerous other examples of cute couples from Broadway shows that fit into one or more of these categories as well and many more that don't necessarily fit into any of these categories at all. There are also many shows with more than one cute couple in the same show. All in all, there are way too many adorable couples in Broadway shows to post about all of them here. We may share more in a future post, but for now, this list will have to do.
