What: Dog Act
Where: Streaming
When: Through February 12, 2021
Who: Teens and Up
Zetta Stone and her companion Dog, who is not an actual dog but for unclear reasons behaves like a dog, are performers on their way to their next gig. However, in the post-apocalyptic world they are living in they may not even survive the journey. This is a dark story, but not as dark as you would think. There is some humor in the piece and the ending unlike the ending of many stories in this genre is actually kind of uplifting. It gives you faith in the human race's ability to come together and work things out.
The characters in the show are all very distinct and each has a very distinct way of speaking. At times, the way some of them speak almost seems a bit poetic but it is also a bit hard to follow at times. The show is not exactly a musical but there are a few songs in it. The songs are not bad, but not memorable. It's nice how they fit so organically into the plot without calling attention to themselves. The show is definitely not for children due to subject matter, implied violence, and language. All in all, if you want to completely escape from the weirdness of the world we have been living in for the past year or so, this might not be the show for you, but if you want to be comforted by a world that's even weirder than ours you may enjoy it.
And that's our view.
