I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Female Gaze & Misc.: MyGo2Mask

We may have been given complimentary copies of any books and/or other products listed below for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: The Female Gaze

Today we are recommending The Female Gaze by Alicia Malone. Far too many films have been helmed by male directors and therefore are clearly representations of men's point of view even if the main characters are female. This book is about some of the important films directed by women and which represent the female point of view. The films discussed range from the years 1906 through 2018. They cover numerous genres, and the directors represented come from a wide variety of different countries and different backgrounds. The book includes information about the director's backgrounds, how they came to be filmmakers,  how they came to make the specific film being discussed, and information about that specific film as well. One thing all the women have in common is that their journey was never easy. Each of these women had to overcome numerous obstacles and fight for the right not only to create the types of films they wanted but to work in the mostly male dominated industry of film directing at all. Their stories are both fascinating and inspiring. If you truly wish to delve into the history of filmmaking particularly the history of female filmmakers, you need to read this book.

Misc;: MyGo2Mask

Today we are talking about  MyGo2Mask. MyGo2Masks are made of Graphene Oxide and consist of 2 layers of 4 plys. They are fairly comfortable, and it is fairly easy to breathe while wearing them compared to some other masks. However, if you wear them for long enough you will still get hot and uncomfortable. They are adjustable around the nose but not around the ears. Although we have previously had trouble keeping on masks that did not adjust around the ears, we did not experience similar problems while testing the MyGo2Mask nor did we have trouble with the straps on the mask breaking as we also have experienced with similar masks. The masks repel water and are allegedly washable in warm water numerous times. Although we did not have the opportunity to wash them as many times as they can allegedly withstand, we did try washing one and it worked well. The mask stayed in good condition and even dried fairly quickly too. As for the mask's medical usefulness and ability to keep one from catching or spreading Covid 19, we are not medical doctors and we cannot discuss that but for more about that or other information about MyGo2Mask's go to  https://www.facebook.com/MyGo2Mask.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
