I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - The Early Night Show

What: The Early Night Show

Where: Online at The Early Night Show or on YouTube at www.youtube.com/channel/UCv_QF3QVrYsROd2jTpe1u1A

Who: All ages

When: New episodes every Friday

Joshua Turchin is a talented young man who at the ripe old age of 13 is quite a seasoned performer. In addition to appearing in at least two Broadway national tours, he has worked as a professional accompanist, been a musical director at numerous venues, written his own musical which was produced at the Rave Theater Festival in 2019, and much more. When the pandemic began, Joshua created a virtual version of the cabaret series he had previously presented at the Green Room 42 in New York City.

In each episode of this series, Joshua and two or three (and sometimes more) other young performers appear and sing songs and chat. Previous guests have included Tyrah Skye Odoms who appeared in the most recent revival of Annie among other things, Gianna Harris who appeared in School of Rock among other things, and Audrey Bennett who appeared in Frozen among other things. Older performers including Laura Benanti and Jennifer Blood have also occasionally appeared on an episode or two of the show.

We would highly recommend The Early Night Show for all ages. The performers who appear on the show  are delightful and engaging and loaded with talent. It's short length and music-filled episodes make it suitable entertainment for even the youngest members of the family. Also it's nice to have a place to go to see so many accomplished young artists in one place without even having to leave your home.

The Early Night Show is currently in its sixth season. The seasons are short, however, and run consecutively. Each season runs about 15 episodes, and each episode runs approximately 15 to 20 minutes. At the beginning of the pandemic,  new episodes of the show were released about 3 days a week, but currently, new episodes are released on Fridays only. All past episodes are available both on the website and on the YouTube page, however.  For more information or to starting watching, visit The Early Night Show.

Tune in Sunday for this week's Sunday Scoop.
