Tangled: The Musical, which was created exclusively for Disney's cruise line is based on the movie of the same name. With a shorter running time than the movie and three additional songs added, the show is mostly songs with very little dialogue which makes it even better for short attention spans than the original movie. However, although the songs are pleasant enough, neither the songs from the movie nor the additional songs are among the best in the illustrious catalog of Disney songs. The show sticks as much as possible to the plot of the movie. The character of Pascal, the funny but feisty little green chameleon is not a part of the show, however. The character of Maximus the horse is though. He is represented by a puppet similar to the puppets in The Lion King musical although his character is not really around enough to appreciate the puppetry. The show is fairly enjoyable although it can be distracting that Rapunzel's hair doesn't look anything like hair it actually looks like rope which kind of takes away from the central premise of the show. It can also be distracting that Rapunzel has to spend most of the show carrying around all that "hair: in order to avoid tripping on it, and it's hard to take your eyes off it. These things probably won't bother young children, who are more willing to suspend their disbelief, however and they are the ones that will most enjoy this show.
